My name is Ligia Pacheco. I am the full time accountant here at the Madera Rescue Mission. I am originally from Bogota, Colombia where I came to know Jesus as my personal Savior at the age of 9. Since that time, God has placed the desire in my heart to serve Him in ministry. With that goal in mind I studied Theology at the Bogota Baptist Seminary for three years plus. While still in Columbia I worked as an Instructor of Theology, a community hygiene teacher, and advocate for good parenting and vulnerable children and families.

In 1996 I came to Fresno State University in pursuit of higher education. Finally after a period of many struggles I earned a BA in Social Work in 2012.

In 2014, I came to the Mission as a volunteer and eventually was offered a  part time office assistant position. I also provide translation for Spanish speaking guests as needed.

My husband Raymond is a chef at Table Mountain Casino and occasionally volunteers to help train the disciples in the kitchen.

I love working here at the Mission and my reward is seeing the happy faces of our guests when their basic and spiritual needs have been met.
